TEXTURED LANDSCAPES

Over the years I have travelled all over Australia and part of the world. Coming back with hundreds of photographs I needed to recreate the wonders I had seen. I wanted to create paintings I could touch, so my love affair with textured acrylic began. Most of my paintings are from the Outback of Australia, where the colours and textures of the rocks and earth made my heart expand. So here are three of them:

Hermannsburg: a safari day trip from Alice Springs brought me to a place called Hermannsburg, the home settlement of Albert Namatjira. I was surprised how much was still there and some of the settlement is still in use although this church is now empty.
Acrylic on canvas, unframed, 61cm by 45.5cm. Price: $ 200

Palm Valley: travelling further in our 4WD-Tour bus through empty creek beds and very rough terrain we encountered Palm Valley, an oasis in the desert. The contrast between bare rocks and swaying palms was fascinating.
Acrylic on canvas, unframed, 61cm by 50cm. Price: $ 200

Katherine Gorge: a few days later I explored Katherine Gorge. It was an unforgettable day of swimming, climbing and travelling by boat from pool to pool up the gorge. The light playing on the water was beautiful.
