Printmaker. Painter. Mixed media
Betty was born in Auckland. New Zealand. She studied for two years at
the prestigious Elam Art School, now part of the Auckland University.
For the last 30 years she travelled to Australia, appreciating its warmth,
colour vibrance and diversity. As an expressionist painter Betty's desire
is to convey in her work, the people and their lifestyles whether in the
city or the outback.
Now an Australian citizen her work is exhibited in galleries in Australia and in
Auckland New Zealand, she is also a working member of the
R.Q.A.S. Betty lives and works in Nerang Hinterland on the Gold Coast
near the Nerang River. Working in most mediums, watercolour, mixed
media or Acrylics.
She has her own press in her studio and has made many plates,
monoprints, and paintings over the years. She has sold works to people
nationwide in Australia and overseas.
She would like to think those who collect her paintings and prints
derive the same pleasure from them as she does in painting them.
Betty in October 2000 was part of a group of 28 Artisans who travelled
to Japan. A creative ability exchange program, where they exhibited their
work, demonstrated, and painted. They homestayed with Japanese hosts.
