After graduating from the Sydney School of Colour and Design (1991) Wendy went on to study watercolour painting with Tony Smibert, John Lovett, Metka Skrobar, Robert Wade and miniatures with Marilyn Peck.

She had already become an accomplished gilder and painted finisher, having studied for many years with Jennifer Bennell at the Painted Finish in Sydney. She has enjoyed being able to pass on these techniques to many students who have attended her gilding classes.

Using her colour and design skills, she established a 2-4 day Colour Workshop, teaching on the Gold Coast, at USQ McGregor Art School, Tweed River Art Gallery, Gold Coast Art Supplies, the Royal Queensland Art Society and various private studios.

Apart from conducting workshops, Wendy paints, gilds and does commissions from her studio in the Hinterland. This location provides her with a unique opportunity to explore the beauty of the natural world.

Surrounded by nature, she finds great pleasure in creating works which express her “feelings” about the world around her . Thus she explores the abstract view, searching for her own interpretation of the wonder and beauty of our truly amazing world.

She served as secretary on the committee of the Australian Society of Miniature Art for 4 years and as secretary to the Australian Fine Artists group. She has exhibited at the Australian Craft Fair, Sydney, The Private Gallery, The Tweed Art Gallery, the Gold Coast Gallery and The Royal Queensland Art Society. (www.rqasgoldcoast.com )
